Saturday, March 14, more than 1,000 people followed a hearse carrying the body of Mustafa Hsownay as it made its way down the Nørrebrogade high street in Copenhagen.

25-year-old Iraqi native Mustafa Hsownay was killed on February 27, when he was shot in the back as he sat in his car outside the Mjølnerparken estates. Family members say he was an innocent victim of the war between immigrant gangs and biker gangs, and chose to use his final farewell before being flown to Iraq to be buried as a public statement against gang violence.

When the hearse reached Dronning Louise Bridge, the procession stopped to allow family and friends to say a final farewell before the body was driven out of the district on its way Iraq.
